I was thinking about adding voice notifications to the battery module. Actually I already made the mp3 sound files, both the male and female voices.

Notifications would include:

Power failed. The system is operating on battery power. (Desktop with UPS)
The system is operating on battery power. (Laptops)
Power restored. The utility power has been restored. (Desktop with UPS)
The system is operating on AC power. (Laptops)
Battery disconnected. Cannot retrieve information from battery.
Low battery notification.
Critical battery notification. The system will shutdown soon.

What do you guys think?

And did. Also added 'glass battery' as an alternative to the black 'empty battery' background. Ah, and notice how you can also get some really nice results if you use a wallpaper for the battery 'charge' bitmap:



You can also disable the 'battery charging' animation by disabling animations for the battery module. In that case the 'charge' goes up normally (i.e.; as the battery charges) and instead of a 'plug' indicator you get a 'electricity/flash' charging indicator.

I think this module is pretty much feature complete.

Did you try already with a different theme? Did you change any of the settings regarding the RAM module? Could also be some weird combination of settings.

Switching theme to a different one and back again worked. Thanks!

Aaargh! I hate bugs that nobody - not even the user who originally reported it - knows how or is able to reproduce later.

If anyone else sees this problem, please let me know.

Anyway, I've been working on the desktop modules today so that scaling them up does not blur the meter text (or the bitmaps/icons that can be scaled up without losing resolution). Made so many changes to them (again) that it is a real possibility this bug has now been (accidentally) fixed.
