Ok, fixed the problem by using an Async call instead (so the Winstep application does not block). That seemed to solve Explorer stalling as well and now everything is working as it should.

I tried different DPI settings and the behavior remained the same. No issues at all.

Thanks. Must have been a combination of VM + slower speed. Either way, it's fixed.
