I have noticed two strange behaviors with the "default" hotspots to launch the NextStart menu.

My system has dual monitors, with the primary monitor (1) on the right and extended monitor on the left. This makes X/Y positions on the left screen have negative X positions, which is probably the source of the problems/bugs.

1. With the windows start button, hotspot 0 is set for left click on hotspot. That works fine on my main monitor. However, it causes any left click on the left-hand monitor to also bring up the start menu. To verify, disabling hotspot 0 stops this. Is this a bug or "feature"?

2. Hotspot 1 seemed to come set up to launch the NextStart menu on a bump to the top left of the screen. However, with the dual monitor setup, this launches the start menu by a bump anywhere to the top of my left hand monitor. It seems that there is a strong need to be able to select which monitor(s) the bump is effective on. The current behavior is really annoying as my mouse frequently buzzes by the top of the wrong screen. I know I can disable this hotspot, however it seems like a missing option.

1 - For hotspot 0, what are the Hotspot Area coordinates on your system?

2 - Fixed it for next release. Idealy you would be able to specify which monitor the hotpot edge bump refers to, but for now I've just disabled the annoying behavior, with edge bumps only effective on the primary monitor.

The Hotspot Area is something I have not changed, so it was set to whatever "came out of the box" when I installed WinStep:

48,0 to 1920, 1200.

In investigating this, it seems that:

1) If I use the "Select Area", I can restrict the area to a much smaller zone and it works better;
2) However, your coordinate system does not match Windows coordinate system. The horizontal coordinate (48) in the Select Area seems to match something on my most left hand monitor. However, Windows considers this screen, being an "extended" screen to the left of the primary, as being in the X range of -1920 to 0. Your software seems to use a coordinate system where left most screen is always at X=0.

Since I really only wanted my start menu to launch when I press the start button, I was looking for an option in the Hotspots Editor "Launch with" group that effectively turns OFF launching with a hotspot and leaves the "hotspot" action to be done when some other action causes a hotspot to be executed. That might be a nice update.

Change the Hotspot Action from 'Left Click on Hotspot' to 'Left Click on Hotspot Button'. The button will not be visible while the Start Button is associated to that hotspot.

I'll have to review the hotspot code again, it's very old code dating back to 1998 :D - works well when secondary monitors are at the right, obviously not so well when at the left because of the negative coordinates. :D
