DesertDwarf and I are the only two active moderators of this board at present. We are unpaid volunteers and are trying our best to keep the spammers from flooding this board and to answer users' queries as best we can, when we can. However, our time is very limited, and some queries can likely only be answered by "Mr. Winstep" himself, aka Jorge, the sole proprietor and programmer of Winstep and admin of this board - username Winstep - who regrettably remains absent due to unforeseen circumstances, although it is very much hoped that he will be back at the helm very soon.

As volunteer moderators, we are in no way directly affiliated with Winstep Software. However, I feel - and I'm sure DesertDwarf would concur - an apology to Winstep users is well due for the lack of the usual high standard of support, which is hereby made. We will continue to endeavour to keep the ship going as best we can, but please, bear with us and be patient if your queries don't get answered quickly or even not at all.

We hope normal service with its customary high standards of support will resume soon and I'm sure we all wish Jorge well.

Aw, thanks a lot emcee3, I'm sure also on behalf of 'Good Cop' DesertDwarf, aka DD_Ric (I'm the 'other' Ric, n_Ric aka 'Bad Cop' ;) ), how kind of you to say so. :)

Alas, in spite of our best efforts, we're still leaving an awful lot of work for Jorge, both in terms of unanswered or incompletely answered support queries and also admin tasks. As moderators, our powers are more or less limited to ban users, even IPs, but we can't delete spammers' accounts or edit their profiles or signatures - and there are plenty who have their spam in their profiles and/or signatures - and we can of course delete posts, or split topics/posts, and that sort of thing. Fortunately, because of the peak of the summer holiday season in the northern hemisphere, in the last few weeks spam has been a bit slower than usual.

Anyway, at least there has been some small indication in the last few days that 'Mr. Winstep' Jorge is alive and, we hope, well, and that he may now soon crawl out of that 'Rabbit Hole' and rejoin us all here. There's always hope, and always a light at the end of the tunnel. :) So we can all hope that normal service may be resumed soon!
