It took me weeks to figure out and reproduce the COM Surrogate (32-bit) issue I was having that would lock up the sub-dock whenever I activated it. I would have to use the task manager to kill the process to unlock the sub-dock. I tried countless times in vain via the tried and true Process Explorer to locate the culprit file that caused the problem.

It finally dawned on me what was causing it. After closing my browser, I always use CCleaner. It turns out that CCleaner deletes something that causes the sub-dock to lock up, so I figured out how to avoid that.

Here’s the first page of CCleaner after being scanned. The section Temporary System Files is where the issues are. To prevent the lock-up, I have to uncheck it before clicking on the Clean button at the bottom right corner.

HAD TO DELETE IT. IT SAYS I'M ONLY ALLOWED 3 FILES TO BE UPLOADED.

Here’s the list of files in Temporary System Files and their paths. Jorge, please tell me what files are being deleted that cause the lock up, and how and why it affects the sub-dock. Seems strange to me.

Could there be something you can change to prevent it from being affected by temp files being deleted?

Well, Jorge hasn’t responded. So everyone is welcome to try it to see if the same thing happens to them. If it does, please post it. That way, I’ll know whether or not it only happens on my PC.

Stop using CCleaner?

Temp files exist for a reason, if CCleaner is able to delete one while in use, there is no telling how that will affect the owner of that temp file (and some temp files are created not by the Winstep application itself but by the framework in which it runs)
