Hi Picco14. First time I've seen you on this site. Your comment made me wonder. Have you checked to see if you have cataracts?

Good grief, yes, well spotted, you may well be right Windy! Don't know how I missed that.

I hope your eye situation can be remedied which should aid you in making your themes.

Yes, they used to like to wait about 6 months between eyes because of the risk if anything went wrong with the first. Now the interval is much shorter and the risks almost non-existent. I'm next to get mine done, apparently they're now bad enough to have to be done. Have had them for over 10 years but only deteriorating very slowly. Wonder how long I'll have to wait now, with our NHS being in a state of chaos. Still, I don't mind. I can manage.

Similar to yourself I am retired and now doing things for fun / enjoyment, and continuing to tweak Winstep was not one of those things (for me).

Retired?! Don't use the dirty 'r' word around here and around me! ;) I'll never retire, there's always something to be done. Anyway, good to see you around again, techlobo.

If you were ever to document how to build themes in Winstep I would be interested in discussing this, but appreciate that may not be how you want to spend your time.

Well, I did once or twice sort of suggest that maybe some of us could get together and do some sort of theming guide, with fully annotated config files, but there never was even a single response IIRC.

I seem to recall that Nexter did raise a question / poll on the forum some time back to see what interest there was in having a forum for theming, but got little interest. ...

Err, no, not a poll I don't think. Though IIRC I did post a poll about paying for a - well, "The Thing that must not be named". ;) In other words, the Theme Builder - apologies to Jorge. :) Response was pretty near zero.

I could almost be tempted to put up another poll, asking if people are still interested in themes, and in creating themes, and if anyone would volunteer for some sort of community created theming guide. But I could just about equally guarantee that there would be near zero response.

The problem is the general apathy in the forums. But it's by no means an issue that is unique to Winstep forums, it is, alas, a pretty universal one in the world of forums. Even in some really big forums - sometimes with millions of members - you can sometimes see almost as many mods and admins logged in as ordinary members. It's a crying shame really. But people and times have changed, and everybody is far too busy on shite (anti-) social media to be arsed with forums, unless they need a problem solved. :(

The beginning stage of examining how good or bad your vision is takes about two weeks. Once the surgery was done, it was about 3 weeks before they operated on the 2nd eye. They test the eye about 2 weeks after the surgery to ensure everything is okay. Lots of eye drops per day!

I had a lot of problems putting them in. I never used eye drops until the surgery. After both eyes were completed and healed, I bought a gadget online that helps you put them in. They recommended that I use the eye drops even after they healed. It worked well. I wish I would have known about it earlier.

Yeah, times change and these things become more routine. :)

Continued use of eye drops could possibly suggest a corneal problem.

The only major problem I seem to have with the cataracts is incredible sensitivity to glare now. I almost permanently wear (prescription) shades, which help a lot.
