New Guy here. I bought the Winstep Xtreme package yesterday to replace a very old rocket dock installation I had. I've been figuring things out, but one thing isn't working. I use Aurora by Cheat Happens (don't judge, getting old and twitch games don't like me anymore, only play single player anyway). I've tried dragging both a shortcut and the .exe file onto the dock, but both generate a white square document. When I click on the generated document, it generates a message that says "Element not found." I'm using the latest v25.9 and an updated Win11 Pro (English). I loaded a ton of shortcuts into the dock and sub-docks, so I'm pretty sure the program is working and the process I'm using *should* work. :)

And even with this hiccup, this is loads better than the old rocket dock.

Thanks,
Simon

That actually looks like a crash!

Can you please post a screenshot of the Item Properties dialog for that item in the dock?

I hope this is what you were looking for. There is a screenshot of the dock properties, and 2 of the Aurora properties. I think you can download the Aurora program for free from Cheat Happens here:

https://www.cheathappens.com/trainers.asp

I think you need an account to use it, but you should be able to try it out with the Winstep program.

Thanks for the help! Merry Christmas!

Regards,
Simon

Ok, that is very strange... for some reason the shortcut does not seem to be resolved properly when dropped into the dock, resulting in an apparently malformed virtual shell item (that error message is actually triggered by ShellExecuteEx)

Here is what I want you to try:

1. Right click the dock, select Insert New Dock Item -> Item

2. In the Item Properties dialog, set the Item Type to Program, then enter

C:\Mega\Aurora\Aurora.exe

in the Filename field.

3. Press OK and see if it runs this way. Let me know please.

Also, any trouble with other shortcuts? You're running the latest version (v25.9) of Winstep Xtreme, right?

P.S. Thanks and Merry Xmas to you too! :D

Bingo! Runs fine that way. Pulled the icon and everything. I'm not sure what's going on with it the other way, weird! Yes, v25.9 and everything else I've thrown at it, probably 50+ items, works exactly as advertised. Thank you again!

Regards,
Simon
