On my laptop, (Vista) after resuming windows from hibernation,
the only things appearing on my desktop are 2 of 3
desktop modules, everything else is missing. I have to
click on the WS Icon in the task bar select preferences then
OK to get Winstep to fully load. Again this only happens
after hibernation, not a total restart.

Any Suggestions?

PS Any Chance of a desktop module with a wi-fi
signal strength indicator?
Thanx

Hmmm, just researched how I could potentialy solve this, but I still need more data:

1 - What are the modules that appear after comming back from hibernation (I bet they're the ones constantly updating their information)?

2 - What happens if you change to a simple theme like NeXT-OS and then hibernate and come back (the NeXT OS theme does not use layered/alpha blended windows, that's why I'm asking - could actually be a bug with Windows and layered windows).

3 - What happens if you bump the bottom screen edge after returning from hibernation (assuming you've got WorkShelf docked to the bottom of the screen)?

It's on the to-do list. :D

By the way, since you're running Vista, would you like to test the latest Winstep Xtreme 8.1 beta? Among other features, it adds 100% Vista compatibility.

If so, send me a private message here or an email to Winstep support.

Jorge, Thanks.
The 2 desktop modules were the clock and CPU meter,
which as you said are always updating, I would like to
check out the Bets 8 version, but cant find a link. I also believe
this problem with hibernation is caused by running in Vista aero

PS Originally purchased Tailsman Desktop a year
before I found your product. The other was
a nightmare with the shell switching problems,
and that was on XP

I really like Winstep and have turned some friend onto it.
(canI send you a screen shot of my desktop? if so what address?)

PS I am hesitant about switching themes outside of modules, because
I seem to always loose my desktop background, even though itis locked
Again Thanks

Chris.
