Hi, this is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help me out with some settings. This software seems like it can be amazing once I get familiar with it. Here is a pic of my desktop with the Prowler theme,

Image

The problem I'm having is the systray icons are clipped and i can't fix this.
In the pic the yellow norton icon is clipped but also other icons do this occasionally. I have tried to uncheck the "hide notification icons" but then when I re-apply nextstart, I get no icons at all in the systray.

If you look at this next pic, its a screen from the themes author's pic on wincustomize. His systray looks normal, not like mine all squished together.

The next question I have, is there any way to resize the desktop widgets? I have all the Prowler widgets such as weather, ram, usage etc enabled but they are way to big for my screen. I searched all of the config menus with no success.

If you have any ideas on how to fix this, please give me detailed instructions because Im new to the software. thanks

This is a great suite you have developed and I really want to start using it daily to my preference, but the option menus and preferences are pretty involved and confusing. Is there a video tutorial or anything of this nature on how to tweak all the settings and setup custom menu layouts? Hope you can help me. Thanks for all your time and help. :D

P.S. How do I add and remove shortcuts in the shelfs? Thanks Again

Hey Doriginalone, welcome to the forums.

Are you running something in addition to WinStep Extreme....like WindowBlinds? I believe there is some sort of "issue" (for lack fo a better term) with that combo....but Jorge is looking into it. I had a different issue with my systray, which has been fixed in the next version (now in private beta).

In order to add shortcuts to shelves...simply drag and drop them on there :)

I don't believe there is a way to dynamically resize the desktop widgets. In order to do that, you would need to get into skinning, and make a smaller image for the widget.

Hope that helps some. It really is cool software that is fun to use too.

No there isn't. But he gave me that idea and I think I can pull that off for 9.2 without too much work... It would actually be quite useful. :D

Hi guys thanks for the warm Welcome!

Yes Iam using the latest Windowblinds, Iconpackager, Deskscapes, CursorFX, etc. Some might be betas but I'm not to sure atm.
Basically the ultimate Stardock package. Unfortunately I'm not a registered user so I cant access the beta version to see if that fixes things. I have tried different resolutions aside from my native one. I thought it might be that since I have an oddball resolution at 1360x768 but that didn't fix the issue.

As far as deleting an icon from the bottom shelf, I know it sounds stupid but I did not see an option to do this. Ill try again though. Anyway thanks for any help with these issues. If there is any other suggestions besides the beta version please let me know as I would really like to get this software up and running. Thanks!

Yup, that's a WindowBlinds vs NextSTART issue alright. What Windows version are you running, XP? Also, have you got your NextSTART systray set to transparent?

Anyway, the good news is that I just added a way for WorkShelf to automatically resize (rescale) Desktop Modules, from 10% to 100%. This will be featured in the next release (9.2).

Im running Vista, Im not sure what setting the NextSTART systray transparency is set to, where would I find the transparency setting? Ill probably just wait until its fixed in the new version then I will test it out before I buy. Thanks for all the help.

When that happens, try clicking on an empty space of the Startbar and pressing CTRL+F9 to refresh the systray.

The upcoming Xtreme 9.2 should also help in this respect.
