Like the title says, I use Gmail not outlook or anything and I want to setup winstep to check my gmail for me and stuff. Can someone explain how to set this up, if it is even possible..

OK, here is the general idea:

You need to set up Gmail for POP3 access. If you don't know how to do this, googling "gmail and POP3" will help out.

Then it is just a matter of noting the settings gmail gives you (pop3 port, for example) and putting them into the proper place in the email checker settings.

I have been using gmail/winstep for a while now and it works very well.

Also, don't forget to enable SSL in the email module.

Hi. I have been reading various posts here and following advice and tips supplied there, but I still cannot get email checker to connect to the servers. I have enabled POP in Gmail, copied in the settings (port, SSL etc) as advised but still no luck! The weather module connects etc, but not the mail. I am using Vista Premium, 32-bit, on an HP laptop, accessing the net via a basic LAN.

Please help as I LOVE Winstep.

I just tested the Email Checker with my own Gmail account and it seems to be working fine.

When you open the Email Checker settings, what does it say in the 'Last Checked' and 'Response' fields for your Gmail account?
