Hey there,

I've got the following problem:

When I add an icon to the dock, then it's just a shortcut to start the program by clicking it. While the program is running, there is another icon on the dock for this application. For example: I open the browser by clicking on it's icon and then there'll be another icon displaying the current open page. Clicking the shortcut-icon again, will open another tab instead of bringing the prom into front.
Is there a way to combine this into ONE icon?

This is what the windows 7 taskbar does: You've got an icon, by clicking it you'll start the program and by clicking it again you can minimize / maximize the running program. 1 icon to start a program and the same icon for the running application.

IN SHORT: Is is possible to have a dock with the behavior of the windows 7 taskbar?

Thanks for any help

I assume you're referring to the Pin this program to taskbar/Unpin this program from taskbar feature by right-clicking on an icon on the Windows 7 taskbar.

As far as I know, none of the Winstep programs can do that.

The only thing that you can do is if you're using Winstep Xtreme is to create another Dock and use that only for running apps instead of combining them with the shortcut icons on one Dock.

Create another Dock by right-clicking the Nexus icon > Dock and Shelf Management > Create New Dock. Then right-click the Nexus icon on the Dock > Dock Properties > Content tab > Check the box that says Show running applications in this dock.

Be advised. If you chose to do that depending on your settings, if your running app is fully maximized when you click on the icon and the running app page is underneath the icon, you will not be able minimize it.

You would have to make sure the Desktop is underneath the icon. I have my settings configured that way so all I have to do is click anywhere on an running app maximized page to make my Docks, and Workshelf tab titles (i.e. Desktop, Main, Recent, Control Panel, Quick Launch, Themes, Tasks) hide after a bump.

It's a quick way of hiding all of my Docks and WorkShelf tab titles without continually bumping to hide all of them since I have them configured to work independently from one another. I don't use the running apps feature on my Docks.

I decided to make a video to illustrate the effect of my settings. As you will see, I have the WorkShelf tab titles at the top of the screen and my Docks, Modules and WorkShelf are configured to appear independently with each bump.

You will also see at the end of the video all of my Docks, Modules and WorkShelf tab titles will hide with one click.
