I totally agree with BassdudeNZ. Microsoft is the world's leading company! Its Windows is much more interesting than Linux! As long as there is no competition, Microsoft remains a software monopoly.

Respected Jorge! I hope that you will cope with all the difficulties and your Winstep Xtreme program will continue to develop!

@JORGE

Do you have an ETA for version 27 please?

No, I don't Andrew. "Soon" would be my best guess, sorry.

Respected Jorge! Some themes have an empty space instead of a trash can! The trash can icon is not displayed! Is there a way to fix this?

Isn't that the theme's fault?

Right click the Recycler Item in the dock and select "Dock Entry Properties" from the context menu that pops up. In the Item Properties dialog, click "Change Icon". What images are show for "Recycler (Empty)" and "Recycler (Full)" ?

Does anything change if you click the "Default" button?

Nothing happens. The blue square. But there is a trash icon on the desktop. I can click View-ProgramData-Winstep-Examples of Icons and select the trash can icons (empty, filled). But each theme has its own original icons. And they were gone.

Ok, open Preferences, go to the Themes tab and click on the Theme Options button.

On the panel that pops up, is the theme for the Recycler module locked?

If so, unlock it.

Either way, press Ok to close the panel.

Back in the Themes tab again, click the Open Folder button. This will open the folder where the current theme bitmaps and configuration files are stored.

But before you look at it I want you to try something else: change "Winstep Themes" at the top left corner to "Recycler". This will show the image used for the *desktop* version of the Recycler module in the preview (which, according to you, is being displayed correctly, right?)

Is the theme name selected for the Recycler the same as the global theme?

Now look at the theme folder that you previously opened. In the Search Box of the Explorer window for that folder, type wstrash

This should show you all the images used for the trash module (desktop AND iconic module). Please post a screenshot of the images shown. Are any of the images empty/fully transparent?

I would prefer to reinstall the program because I messed up the settings. This trash icon is now available in all themes.

So there you go, for whatever reason the images for the iconic version of the recycle bin module are either corrupt or intentionally blank.

This is very interesting now I can see it and raises something I potentially may have no awareness of.
The ES and FS in some themes, I left a blank transparent canvas on purpose, so that could very well be my fault that is causing this perhaps?? I always thought they were overlays and removed them when I did not wish them to appear on empty/full. Do I need to do something like have something there even if it is only 1% opaque/99% transparent (almost invisible)? Or, do I need to ensure that the E and ES, F and FS are identical to each other if I do not want a traditionally different overlay? The last thing I wish to do is accidentally cause any user grief over something I was unaware of.

If I have possibly missed a "Best practice for skinners" in this one, please do not be backwards at coming forwards. :)

Yes, it is your fault lol. Mistery solved.

No idea why you would think they were overlays. They are the bitmaps used for the ICONIC versions of the Recycle Bin module.

The Winstep application only checks to see if the bitmaps exist before using the defaults, not if they are actually blank/fully transparent. So by using blank bitmaps you did far worse than simply removing the bitmaps from the theme. :P

Yes I missed the best practices tutorial

You REALLY need a facepalm or 'egg on face' emoticon, because this is where I would use it.

@PPETROFF60 - This is my fault. As you know, fortuitously, I am in the process of doing updates on my own computer, checking each theme.
My sincere apologies. I will go through every theme and put the iconic icons back which I have unknowingly removed thinking they were something else. The themes that need them put back I will systematically re-upload them as a priority over this week, hopefully all before Sunday.

EDIT: in now well over 100 themes, it won't be fast and I hope I have not done too many (facepalm).
