Back in the 80's and 90's we all thought that computers would quickly become intelligent, it was just a matter of 10-15 years... Ahaha, how naive we were back then and how we TOTALLY underestimated the complexity of the problem (and human intelligence). :D

LOL! Underestimated the complexity of the brain and overestimated human intelligence - my motto has always been, "Never underestimate the stupidity of the human race as a whole." :P

Granted though, with the advance of quantum computing, true AI might just be a possibility in, what, 100 years' time? But then, we - as a race - most likely won't be around that long as a consequence of climate change and the wholesale poisoning of the environment. ;)
