Ok I got almost everything working now.

One little thing that I can't work out at the moment is changing the time it takes until the dock goes back into the background when the mouse accidentally leaves the surface of the dock before actually having clicked on something.

At the moment, that time is too short and I'd like to make it longer. However again, for the life of me I can't figure out which setting to use for this purpose.

Thanks again for help,
David

There are a lot of activation settings, so I'm not sure which one you are talking about.

I assume you have the dock set NOT to auto-hide, so I think you're talking about the 'Bring dock forward on mouse over' feature, which brings the dock to the top of the z-order if you mouse over a visible part of it and then back if you mouse away without clicking anything?

Yep, exactly. Where is (if any) the "go back in Z-Order delay setting" for this activation variant?

Cheers

There isn't. There is only a 'come forward/pop-up' delay.

This is already a convenience feature; the idea is for the dock to move out of the way (by going back down on the z-order) as soon as the mouse pointer moves away from it.

I see. However I'd prefer a certain delay because sometimes you accidentally leave the dock when you are still browsing for the right icon to click, and boom -- is it gone.

You can always associate an hot-key to activate the dock via the keyboard. :D

David P, I'm not familiar with your settings, but on the rare occasion that I've done that, I just simply bump again. It only takes a millisecond to do that.

Oh BTW, because of this thread, at least a few weeks ago I read about the new feature Jorge added-Swipe, and because of it ended up revisiting my bump settings to prevent accidental activations of the dock and modules when I scroll or perform other activities with the mouse.

I just tried to figure out what I did and I can't remember which settings fixed it. I know I tried Swipe but chose to use the bump settings instead. I just tried several settings to confirm which settings I changed but nothing changed so I put it back to the settings I made a few weeks ago. Maybe I have to restart my PC for the settings to take affect.

Will try it later and report back if that makes the settings change.

Yeah, but I'm using swipe and swiping again is not SO effortless.
