I have 4 hotspots which reside in the upper-left area of the screen. They are always visible except when covered by another window. When I am working in another window, these hotspots can all of a sudden appear on top of the window if my cursor touches one of the Quick-Launch icons. Why is this occurring & can I stop it from occurring? Thanks & HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

John

NextSTART items (hotspot buttons, menus, startbar, etc...) are all 'connected' together - bring one to the foreground and all others come to the foreground as well. This is by design, and can actually be quite helpful in preventing you from 'losing' detached menus, etc, behind other windows...

Jorge:

I am not "bringing one to the foreground". I am simply hovering my cursor over a Quick Launch icon. Is there any way to stop the other hotspot icons from then coming to the foreground? This can be very annoying. For example, I am working in a given window, & my cursor happens to pass over a Quick Launch icon. The other hotspot icons then appear & can get in the way of menu items in the window I am working within. Thanks.

Oh, hi John! :D

If you're not clicking on anything then I guess you mean this happens when the Quick Launch icon tooltip pops up. Is that right?

Correct. Either the Quick-Launch icon tooltip or the TaskBar icon tooltip.

Jorge:

I take your response to mean that it was not, in fact, meant to be like it is now??? In any case, I thank you for making the adjustment.

Sorry!!! Believe me, I've NOT forgotten about your issue, really (it's on my to-do list), it's just that I have been frying bigger fish. Lots of bigger fish.

I'm being patient but I'm disappointed that this problem has yet to be fixed - mainly because it is a pain in the arse & beta 4 & 5 have come with no fix. What's in sight?

It hasn't been corrected not because I haven't looked into it, but because I'm not sure I can correct it. Unfortunately you can only 'detach' a form (the tooltip window) from the invisible VB parent window that is responsible for all windows in the same VB application being tied together in terms of Z-Order *after* the tooltip is displayed. By then it's already too late.

So, what seemed like a simple problem to solve in the begining, actually ain't. :(
