Hello everyone – I just subscribed to this great Nexus forum after searching all over for a response to a question that leaves me stumped. I had to subscribe after reviewing many of the wonderful tips on the forum, some even answered other questions that I did not know I had (lol). Anyhow, here is my first question: How to change the background color of the sub-docks? Presently, all my sub-docks have a dark gray background that I find tough on my eye. Hopefully, the background can be changed either individually (each item on the dock), or globally (in this case I rather pure white). Thanks.

Winstep applications are skinnable and you have hundreds of different themes available.

Try right clicking on the dock -> Nexus -> Dock Properties. This should open the Configuration panel for that dock.

Now go to the Themes tab. In the top left you can choose either 'Tiles' or 'Themes'. Tiles is where each dock item has an "individual" background (you can select from the different tile options available).

Most people will use 'Themes' however, as they are much more flexible. Nexus comes with a bunch of different themes and you can download many others from sites online.

Anyway, select the Theme/Tile you want (you will be able to preview what the dock will look like) then press the OK button.

Hello Jorge, thanks for the response. However, with your instructions only the background color of the dock changes-not the sub-dock. What I would like is to also configure the background color of the sub-dock. Btw, I configured the sub-docks to inherit the settings of the dock but after restart they do not inherit. Any other suggestion is appreciated. Thanks,

Can you please post a screenshot of the issue?

Also, after a restart of what? Windows? The application? After the restart, is the 'sub-docks inherit parent dock settings' option still checked?

After a restart of the application and Windows the background color of the sub-docks remain unchanged. This is despite the "sub-dock inherit parent dock settings" option remain checked.

File comment: WinStep Sub-Dock does not inherit parent dock setting, leaving background color unchanged.

This is why a picture is worth a thousand words... That is not a sub-dock, that is a menu.

My Apologies, My bad! But now that you have clarified that the background I am referring to belongs to menu, a quick search tells me that I need to configure the menu appearance and that this is done via "Preference Manager". I will take it from there. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You're running Nexus Ultimate, isn't it?
