I've just had to abandon using Workshelf, due to a new problem encountered with AutoCAD which I use on a regular basis. With Workshelf running, my cursor becomes incredibly slow in AutoCAD as I try to select objects. I should add that I've been using Winstep Xtreme without a problem for probably four months, so something in one of the last two Betas has obviously had an impact, causing this new problem. It is not resource related, gotta be something else. For the meantime I stick with NextStart, which is the main reason I like Winstep anyway (the customizable menus triggered by hotspots is what I like, less clicking!)

Have you tried adding AutoCad to the snapshot exclusion list (right click on the AutoCad button in the taskbar and select 'Add to Snapshot Exclusion List' from the context menu that pops up)?

Try that then please get back to me with the results...

Also, are you running XP or Vista?

Thanks,

Tried that, Jorge, unsuccessful. I'm running XP on a Dell 1.86 GHz Pentium M. 1GB RAM.

Well, guess the buttler didn't do it after all...

I'll have to ask you to do a bit more detective work, in that case... assuming you're not working on a multi-monitor system, set the desktop CPU meter to Always On Top, making sure you're using a theme that displays the top CPU 'hogs'. Now, when the cursor becomes slow in AutoCad, look at the CPU Meter... what is the percentage of CPU being used? Which program is using the most percentage and how much?
