I'm just curious about programming possibilities

I wrote parts of and use the attached sidebar gadget. It uses the current length of day to calculate the position of the sun and then use the appropriate image to represent the current conditions.
Any way to adapt something like this into the program?

how we see previously gotted weather forecasts. you add history option for users to see.
