Hi,

I have two applications on the dock, they both startup automatically on login. I need the users to be able to switch back and forth between the two applications. I have selected "group similar icons into a single icon", this is working fine.

What I need:

I need Nexus to ALWAYS stay on top. I have selected the option "always above other windows"; made sure auto hide is unchecked; locked the icons; run nexus on startup; and on advanced-advanced, the only thing i have checked is "do not launch multiple sessions.

Now when I start up sometimes nexus dock disapears behind the open windows, sometimes it doesnt but once I get to clicking within the applications it will eventually disapear behind them. If I exit the applications and go to the desktop, Nexus dock is still there and working. it seems very unstable in this aspect. Am I missing a setting or am I the only one having this issue?

Thanks,
-Adam

Are the applications running full screen or maximized?

They are running full screen. Shouldn't "always on top" override this?

Yes, unless the full screen applications are also running 'always on top'.

The problem is that Nexus is designed to ignore edge bumps, etc, when full screen applications are running (the drawback of not doing this would be Nexus popping up on top of a game you're running full screen if you accidentaly bumped the screen edge with your mouse pointer).

So, if for some reason a always on top dock goes behind a full screen application, you can't get it back until you minimize, restore or maximize the full screen application.

When you say 'it will eventually disappear behind them', what exactly do you mean by this? Can you provide steps to reproduce? Have you been able to identify some 'trigger' condition that causes this?

The first app is running in IE kiosk mode, the other is written in .net. neither are set to "always be on top".

If we switched back and forth between the two apps several times, eventually when we switched to the .net app, nexus dock would disappear behind it. and if we alt f4 the app, nexus dock is even behind the IE app.

it appears that running IE in kiosk mode is breaking it. It has broke every other dock I have tried using as well. Any ideas or suggestions on how to get this to cooperate with kiosk mode? It works just fine in full screen mode, but we would prefer to roll it out with kiosk mode...

Thanks!
