Well, if you want to be a "skinner" "from scratch", you can always choose an existing theme and edit all files yourself. I did it, I'm sure others can as well.
Don't say it, do it.

Thats what i've been doing now and let me tell you its pain in the (something goes here) if you don't know what image is for what and how to scale it to what size.....

So anyone kind eneough to name a descent theme with all features such as:

=>Hor. and ver. start bar

=>start orb animation when clicked or when a mouse pointer is on it.

=>Menu start cap end cap and separator

=>Scroll arrows, other indicators for individual items

etc. I just meant editing nexstart...work shelf and dock is the second matter......

And the thing that is bugging me the font and colour on nexstart task, menu, tooltip.....where can i change that?

also if i edit the theme the name stays same and theres two themes of the same name..... what to do with that?

Ok i went overboard but pls help me....

Heh...
Start editing files, everything you want is in there, somewhere. As always, there is a simple way to find which image is which, and it's called "trial and error". Same goes for the config files.
Otherwise, you can wait for the theme builder, and drop the "everything from scratch" act. :D

The old User Guides for NextSTART and WorkShelf can be found HERE and HERE. They have some information regarding the bitmaps used.

However, as I said, Winstep themes were never intended to be created by editing the configuration files directly (which is something most other customization programs require you to do), so you won't find any information regarding the settings themselves there. v9.5 was the last version that included skinning settings in the GUI.

There are some limited font and color settings you can change in a theme by going to the Themes tab of NextSTART and WorkShelf Preferences and clicking the 'Customize' button.

Again, it would perhaps be better if you waited for the Theme Builder application.
