I been going through a couple a posts and seems other people seem to have this problem. It was driving me crazy at first, cause I thought it was my Windows Installation but I am 99.9 percent sure it is Nexus dock which is causing this.

I am running Windows 7 ultimate and have nexus dock 11.10 installed.

When I click show desktop and arrange icons on my taskbar or documents etc on my desktop, windows taskbar disappears and the nexus dock disappears. Also happens if I try to edit a file or delete it. The taskbar and dock only return if I hit the windows key or if I open a file on the desktop.

Has anyone found a way around this as yet????

I have tested it by exiting nexus dock and everything is back to normal. Only happens again when I re-enable nexus dock. This shows that Nexus dock is causing the problem.

It doesn't matter if I show desktop by Win + D or Click show desktop at the side. Still happens.

Popup Dock Over Mouse Over Is Enabled and dock is set to be at the top

Does this still happen if the dock is NOT set to be always on top?

It would have been already if I could reproduce that here, but I can't (and I'm also running Windows 7).

Can you make a high resolution video exemplifying the problem and upload it to Youtube, please?

Also, are you running other type of Desktop software such as Fences?

You mention 'fences'. Will it cause problems with Winstep?

I don't think so, it shouldn't, but I can't be sure one way or the other until someone reports a problem that only occurs when Fences is running (which hasn't happened so far).

When you use more than one 'flavor' of Windows customization software there is always the chance that one might interfere with the other in some very specific things. That doesn't mean it will, either, just that it *might*.

Heck, with all the trillions of possible software/hardware combinations out there, I'm actually surprised *anything* works! lol

Seems this issue is related to having the "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" setting enabled and is apparently cured by disabling this feature. That setting can be found in 'Windows Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center -> Make the Mouse easier to use -> Make it easier to manage windows'.

I didn't even know Windows had such a setting until a user pointed it out to me as the solution to this problem.

Once again, the devil is in the details. To fix a problem I need to be able to reproduce it here, and that means that it's CRITICAL for the user to mention ANY obscure/unusual settings he has enabled on his system.

Same here Junky, why is the option disabled. Is there some way to enable it?
