I am a new user. I have several questions.

I had everything set yo correctly, then tried to learn options. I changed things but cannot go back. Even reset does not work.

1. I replaced the Win-Step tray with the Windows tray. How can I go back to use the Win-Step tray?

2. Is there a way to see what all hot-keys are?

3. I had a quick-launch bar that always showed. Now only the quick-launch bar appears when I click on a tab. I want it to always appear with a menu that allows additions, changing icons.

4. How can I access the main Win-step menu?

Each of the individual components in Winstep Xtreme (NextSTART and WorkShelf) have a Backup button in the Advanced tab of the Preferences screen for each application that allows you to save the current settings.

Experimenting with NextSTART and WorkShelf is a great idea, but you should always make a backup of the settings before you do, just in case you get yourself into a corner.

Furthermore, there is also a Troubleshooting button in that same tab of Preferences which allows you to reset settings, contents or both into factory default for that application.

Now, replying to your questions:

1. I'm not sure what you mean by Winstep tray in this case. 'System tray' refers only to the small window notification icons in the taskbar. Do you mean the whole taskbar instead?

A screenshot displaying the problem would probably help in this case, so I know exactly what you mean. :D

2. Unfortunately not currently. I've been thinking about adding this ability since it would be very useful in case a user forgets where he applied a specific hot key to and wants to reset it.

3 & 4. I think that screenshot of your desktop I mentioned above would probably help me understand exactly how Winstep Xtreme is currently configured in your system and what you want.

Thank you for the reply.

I think I have figured everything out.

I have made a backup.

One last question.

I used to use TClock.exe to always have the day and day visible.

Can I do this in WinStep. To always have the day and date visible instead of just the clock?

If you right click the system tray button, where the time is, you should see a 'Show Date' option in the context menu that pops up.

Be aware, though, that this might make your taskbar grow by one row of icons, since it always expands automatically to hold the largest object in it.
