I purchased winstep extreme In November, since then i have been emailing yourselves to try to get the product key. We are unable to open the attachment that contained the product key to register it. We can now no longer use the application as it is telling us it has expired.
Possibly my emails have been sent to your spam folder.
We can no longer use the product untill we get the key.
Please could someone help us.
Thanks.

Carole?

Funny, I *just* replied again to one of your messages and asked BMT Micro to forward my reply from there too, with a suggestion to use the forums instead. :D I'm getting your emails, but apparently you're not getting mine.

Anyway, can you please send (to the Winstep support address) me a screenshot of your desktop displaying two things:

1. WorkShelf Preferences open in the About tab.

2. The contents of the Licenses folder (go to the Registrations tab in WorkShelf Preferences and click the 'Open Folder' button).

Also, exactly what happened when you double clicked the license key that was sent to you in the registration email?

Thanks,

Sigh. Sorry, you're right, found that message on *my* spam folder. <shakes head>

Ok, here is what you need to do:

Open WorkShelf Preference, go to the Advanced tab, click the Troubleshooting Options button, click Restore File Associations button. Close WorkShelf Preferences.

You should now be able to register your copy of Winstep Xtreme by double clicking the XtremeBasic.wsxkey file.

Does the product key need to be opened on the computer that winstep is installed on?

That might be the problem, the licence key came in on my computer via my email. not on my sons laptop that winstep is installed on. Thought it was a serial number as that is what it is asking for. I have a screen up saying licenced to and asking for a licence serial number?

Ignore that is asking you for a serial number.

If your PC and your son's laptop are not networked (if they are just save the license key file into a drive on *his* laptop), then save the license key file into a pen drive (USB Stick) and put the pen drive into your son's laptop. You can then double click the license key file directly from the pen drive.

All is well when it ends well! Glad you managed to do it, have a good night sleep, you deserve it! :D

P.S. Ahaha. That blonde thing is a myth... and I'm over 40 as well, so that puts an end to that one too! :P

Thanks and best regards,
