Just bought your Ultimate license because I was so impressed with Nexus.

I had one question though concerning folders. I was hoping, perhaps even expecting, that when you mouse over a folder item on the dock, that you would see the contents of that folder in a popup, similar to a module I saw in rocket dock. But I've been over the preferences many times and can't seem to find any setting that would indicate that this exists. If this isn't something I'm overlooking, I would really love to see it implemented in a future version of your product. Thanks!

Hi!

What you are looking for is something called 'Stacks', and is currently high on the to-do list (good thing you bought Ultimate too, because it's a feature that won't be available in the free version of the Nexus dock). It will probably be in the next release.

An alternative you can explore in Nexus Ultimate is something called 'sub-docks'. While they will only display what you put in them (i.e.; they are not 'windows' into existing folders in your hard drive, but rather like other docks) sub-docks still allow you to organize your programs into categories.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I'm using subdocks, which are very useful for organizing. Great to know that the next version will have stacks. Is there any time frame for the next version, even a very broad one? I realize (from being a developer myself) that a lot of companies do not state timelines due to the lack of certainty over how difficult certain pieces might be to execute, availability of resources, etc. Just wondering. You're asking me that on the very same day v12.2 was released?

No idea at this point, sorry, but if it's any consolation Winstep usually releases a new version every 3 to 4 months.

Thanks, I didn't realize 12.2 was released just today! And 3-4 months is definitely a decent enough estimate so that I know the feature will probably be here at some point during the summer...
