Has something changed in the way subdocks appear? It used to be that the leftmost item in a subdock would appear directly under the dock item that triggered the subdock, with the rest of the subdock appearing to the right; now the entire subdock appears centered under the trigger. I rather liked the old behaviour, since I could arrange my subdocks from most-to-least used, with the items I was mostly likely to want appearing first.

I've been playing around with dock settings and haven't managed to find any way to revert to the old behaviour - am I just being particularly thick and missing something in the options?

No, you're not missing any options, and yes, I did change the behavior.

If you think of it, the new way is far superior to the old. Before, to get to the last item on a sub-dock your mouse had to travel the whole length of the sub-dock. Now, to get to the same icon, it only has to travel half that distance. Everything is closer.

You got used to the old way and I understand that, but stop resisting and let yourself be assimilated (<- Star Trek reference ). Instead of putting your most used stuff at the beginning of a sub-dock, just move it to the middle.

It's only going to hurt once, after a short while you'll be used to it. I promise.
