I'm in the trial phase and I'm seeing some unpleasant behavior:

1. When I go into preferences for Nexus often I cannot click on any other tabs other than the first one I select. Sometimes if I click on a control I may be able to open other tabs. Other times I can open a tab after clicking on it repeatedly. For example, I can click on "Docks & Shelves" but cannot click on "Modules" or "Themes" and so on.

2. The dock at the bottom of the screen will frequently hang and I have to close it then restart Winstep.

Please excuse me if I have used the wrong names for the components. As I said, I'm a new user so I'm learning.

Don't get me wrong, I think Winstep is a fantastic application and I'm really excited about using it. I just am disappointed at the apparent lack of stability but then it may be my system too.

For the record, I'm running on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, SP1.

Thanks in advance.

1. Go to the Windows Control Panel and open Display. Note the current text size (smaller, medium, larger), then click on 'Set custom text size (DPI)' at the left and note if 'Use Windows XP style DPI scaling' is checked or not.

Please report both settings here.

Now, setting the text size to 'smaller' (which is actually normal screen DPI, despite what it says) will immediately resolve your problem, but will make everything in your desktop apppear 'smaller' than it currently does. Alternatively, you can try toggling the value of 'Use Windows XP style DPI scaling'.

You will need to reboot/log off to apply the new settings.

2. Are you running the latest version (v12.2)? What are you doing when it hangs? Is there any other application on your system that also 'freezes' frequently? Are you showing the list of running applications on the dock? Have you tried waiting for a little while to see if the dock unfreezes by itself?

1. Unable to click on the main tabs of the preferences for the dock:

- Text size is medium (125%)

- Use XP style DPI scaling is enabled

2. Workshelf hangs and must be killed:

** Note: This behavior is no longer occurring but here's the info you requested

- Version is 12.02.0689

- I was just running a few apps, Chrome, Thunderbird, etc...

- No other apps have been freezing

- I was showing the running apps on the dock but turned that off today (the issue with the Workshelf wasn't occurring anymore even with the running apps in the dock)

- I've waited quite a while but it never recovered

Thanks again for the help.

Ok, thanks, let me know if it hangs again.

As for the tabs in Preferences, do one of the following:

1. Either DISABLE 'Use XP style scaling'

_OR_

2. Set text size to SMALL (this is the preferred one).
