I have a couple of questions about auto-hiding and collapsing and un-colapsing NeXus.

Right mouse clicking the NeXus control tile there's a choice to enable "Auto-Hide".

1. I've enabled it but it doesn't hide, if it did not sure how to "unhide it" ?!?

When "Collapse to Screen Edge" is set:

2. When double clicking the NeXus Icon on the dock I was able to make it hide, but found no way to make it come back after it was hidden, , other than to unload and re-load WS.

3. I also had set Collapse Dock on Application Launch, launched an application, the dock collapsed, I closed the app but the dock is still collapsed. I don't know how to get it back, other than to unload and re-load WS.

I've tried setting "Activation", in the properties of the specifc dock, to any number of things (other than cntrl-F11) but that doesn't seem to help these issues (I can't tell what that control actually does).

One of the Docks I'm working with is on the primary monitor docked to the right side of the screen the other is on the secondary monitor docked on the rights side of the screen, If "collapse tot he screen edge" is enabled they can be made to collapse but they won't come back.

Dumb question: Have you tried bumping the screen edge?

I have a NeXus dock docked to the top of my screen and set to auto-hide.
Bumping the top of the screen wih the mouse brings it to the foreground.

If you already knew that, then sorry :)

Thanks for the answer Chris, and Yes I've tried the bump the screen edge "activation" setting as well as some others and No I've got these docked in a different position (sorry posted before I read enough that caused me to try some different things) I will move to top or primary and secondary screens to see if it matters; in case this is part of any dual monitor stuff Jorge is working on.

Ah yeah, on my dual monitor system at work, I can only get edge bump activation (NextStart, Workshelf, NeXus) to only work on my primary monitor. None of it works on the secondary monitor.

Yep, Jorge mentioned that he's fixing that in the next update.

New info for Jorge.

This apears to be Dual Monitor related.

Tested this (beyond the above data).

Test Case 1

Primary Monitor (Left)

NextStep bottom

NextStep Menu opens when mouse is bumped into left top corner (always auto hides and unhides properly as configured)

Nexus right side auto hides and hides when double clicked but won't unhide regardless of what settings are in the Dock's properties

Secondary Monitor (right)

WS at top and seems to behave (assuming the Nexus bar isn't at the top of the primary monior)

A 2nd NeXus dock on right side and behaves the same as Nexus on primary monitor regarding hiding and unhiding

If the NeXus behavior is set to colapse onto the control tile it seems to behave correctly (but regardless the Docking properties of the dock for Activation control don't seem to work if and as configured)

Test 2

Primary Monitor (left)

NextStep startbar and menu same as test 1

NeXus Dock 1 is docked at the top and "Dock properties are set to "Activation none"

Secondary Monitor (right)

WS docked to Top (will stay here until a reboot and then fail because it thinks Left Nexus dock is in it's space, per pervious thread)

2nd NeXus Dock on right

Behavior: Double clicking NeXus control tile on left monitor hides both Nexus and WS top of right monitor. Bumping top of screen on left brings them both back from being hidden. (we know this is an unstable placement and Jorge is working on it)

Test 3

Primary Monitor (Left)

NexStep same as all previous tests and behaves the same

NeXus Dock 1 at Top

Secondary Monitor (right)

WS docked to bottom

NeXus Dock 2 docked at top

Results 1

Double clicking NeXus 1 makes it hide and bumping the screen brings it back, NeXus dock 2 on right doesn't move (as it should behave)

Double clicking Nexus Dock 2 makes it go away and bumping the screen on that side does NOT bring it back.

Nexus Dock 2 complains in this position like WS does regarding a Dock already exists in it's space.

Test 4

Move all NeXus docks to primary monitor and they all behave properly, with one minor aberition. If any NeXus doc is set on the right side of the left primary monitor the trigger pixel is easy to blow past, because that edge is "technically" the middle of the overall Dual screen and an "artificial" edge. It takes very careful mouse movements to hit the trigger point to bring the Dock back if it's in this position.

Regardless, configuring "Activation" in the individual Dock properties doesn't bring the dock back at all (hot keys/mouse movements).
