Is there a way to have the NextStart 'Start' button activate the Windows start menu?

Or:

Is there a way to have the NextStart start menu NOT scroll up? Maybe FADE into view instead?

Thanks in advance!!

Well, the answer to your first question is yes, but with a limitation: the Windows Start Menu will pop up exactly where it would normaly do, regardless of the current NextSTART Start button position.

To make the Start Button activate the Windows Start Menu, here is what you should do:

1 - Open NextSTART Preferences.
2 - Navigate to the Hotspots Editor tab.
3 - In the Hotspot section create a new Hotspot by clicking on the Add button.
4 - Note the number of the new hotspot.
5 - In the Hotspot Action section, change 'Show Folder' to 'Run Internal Command'
6 - In the Command Name section, select 'Show Start Menu'
7 - Navigate to the Startbar Preferences tab.
8 - In the Start Button section at the bottom, change the Hotspot number from 0 to the number of the hotspot you just created.
9 - Press Ok.

You can make the Start Button display the NextSTART menu again simply by changing the Start Button hotspot number back to 0.

As for your second question, menu animations are controled in the Sound and Animation Preferences tab of NextSTART Preferences. Just change the 'Horizontal Child Menus' animation from Slide Down to 'None' or 'Fade In'.

Hope this helps,
