I have created all the advanced skinning mode bitmaps (no overlays) for Nexus Docks named according to the help file. However, the endcap bitmaps are appearing upside down when I dock on the top edge or the left edge of the screen. I do not have "Rotate Automatically" checked.

If I rename my "NxTileEndTop.png" file to something else, then change my "NxTileEnd.png" bitmap inverting it, then hit "Preview", the endcap on the top edge is now correct.

Is it possible that the names listed in the doc for the top and left edges are not correct? Or perhaps "Rotate Automatically" is occurring anyway?

Probably a bug, I don't think there are any themes out there using the NeXuS Advanced Skinning mode.

Any chance you could email your theme (with the problem occuring) to support@winstep.net ? It's a lot easier if I see what is happening myself. :D

Ok, I've spent most of the night looking at this, and I did find - and fix - a couple of bugs with the NeXuS Advanced skinning mode.

However, there are still problems.

If it weren't for those lines between each icon, I would recommend that you used a single background bitmap instead of individual tiles. But if you really want to use tiles, then you must understand that tiles should be square (e.g.; 64x64 or 128x128 bitmaps).

NeXuS automatically stretches tile bitmaps to accomodate the current dock icon size, which is always choosen by the user. For instance, if you provide a 48x48 tile bitmap and the dock icon size is also set to 48x48, then NeXuS will automatically stretch the tile bitmap to 64x64 and use that 'magnified' version of the tile bitmap as the background of each icon. In other words, each displayed tile is always square and 16 pixels larger than the icon - this includes start and end caps as well as per-tile overlays.

There is another problem, this time a limitation of the program: while you can specify non-stretchable sections for tile and per-tile overlay bitmaps, there is no mechanism to specify different non-stretchable sections for the tile and overlay start/end caps. Because of this, the later bitmaps use the same settings of the regular tile and per-tile overlay bitmaps.

This is a bit hard to explain without some pratical examples, though.
