I am unable to stop NextStart from running when loading my windows desktop. The checkbox is not checked to run Nextstart automatically. I have checked it and unchecked it but nothing stops it from loading. I have turned workshelf off and it doesn't load. The only thing I want to load is the docks, nothing else right now. I have searched the forums but have been unable to find anything that helps.

Press WIN+R to access the Run prompt, then type msconfig and click the OK button (you might get the UAC prompt). Once in the System Configuration panel, click the Startup tab.

Look for an entry related to NextSTART. What does it say under the 'Location' header?

The closest I see is Winstep Xtreme and the location is C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

Well, try deleting the shortcut to Winstep Xtreme from

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

and see if that solves the problem. If not, I'll explain why there is a shortcut there (you'll need to grab a coffee and a chair) and what you can do about it.

I deleted it and now nothing loads (no nextstart and no nexus dock). I want the dock stuff to still work. I just want to stop nextstart from loading at the current time.

Well, now simply go to the Winstep program group in the Start Menu (All Programs -> Winstep) and run WorkShelf, then set it to run at startup in the General tab of Workshelf Preferences.
