Just wanted to leave a possible solution for Nexus Dock hanging for those people who are searching for answers.

I was having the problem where the dock would freeze for 30sec-1min when it was focused. The issue was because I had shortcuts to network drives in the dock so it was hanging while it tried to retrieve information about them. I fixed this by setting Balloon Information on Mouse Over to Never under General->More Options.

Thanks for the information. I'll see if I can change the code to detect when you are accessing info for a Network drive and prevent the info from being retrieved (which might take a long time, as you've noticed) if so.
