Today I downloaded and installed the Winstep Xtreme trial. So far so good, except I have this one random item showing on my desktop. Looks like a blank module.

ETA: It's triggered by launching or maximizing ANY program. Browsers, Word, etc. Hitting the 'Show Desktop' icon causes it to disappear until the next time I open/maximize a program. It doesn't seem to do anything. When I right click, it starts the Win7 loading circle, but eventually that goes away and nothing happens.

Any ideas on what this is, and how I disable it? (Or use it, if it's something purposeful.)

Aside from this one issue, I'm otherwise very impressed with the features and performance of Winstep.

I've been waiting but it appears everyone else is stumped as I am. What in the heck is it? For the life of me I can't figure out if it indeed is a Module or something else.

hekuro, did you make some sort of custom thing or changed the transparency of something?

my guess is something interfered with your winstep install. 2 things you can try. first open task manager and one by one kill what processes you can excluding winstep processes and explorer and see if it goes away. if that doesn't do the trick restart to launch all processes again, and then uninstall winstep to see if it's still there.
