I'm *very* new to this. I tried something and have found an issue (I think). Of course it could just me being a total noob and possibly having screwed something up.

I have the default "Dock" (I think that's the one. By default at the top). I added Google Chrome and Firefox icons by dragging them there. They showed up and worked with no problem. I changed teh "speed" of the Dock (minimum amount of time to show up and "hide"). Still everything is OK. Then I saw the icon that was already there for Firefox (with the lines going around it). I right-clicked and choose "Remove Item." It did the "blow up thing" (explosion or fireball or something).

Now my problem is that the text is no longer centered below the icons in the Dock. The last action I remember doing before noticing the alignment issue was deleting the default Firefox icon (circle with lines around it) that was on the Dock. Once I dragged the normal Firefox shortcut (from the Start Menu) on the dock I didn't see the need for both.

That's when I noticed the alignment issue. I have looked through the different settings but as I said I'm a total Noob. Total noob. This is day one for me.

I'm including a thumbnail picture which links to a larger size picture of what I'm seeing. Hopefully that will explain what I'm trying to describe and maybe will help someone see what's happening and how i could go about fixing it.

Thanks in advance for any and all help/suggestions/etc that you can give. If I keep playing around with it and happen to find a solution I'll post it back here.

Thanks again.

OK. I found out how to fix it but it doesn't solve the issue itself.

I had to restart my computer. When I did, the Dock had the text centered below like it should be. I say this didn't solve the issue because when I added a couple more icons and then deleted some, I got the same issue. That time, instead of rebooting, I simply exited the Nexus program then restarted it. When it came back up the text was again centered.

I know it's not a big deal and the fix is pretty easy. It just seems strange to have to do that.

Other than that, right now I'm loving the Nexus experience. Fast, clean and does what it wants. I know it does a LOT more than I have thus far (which is basically playing with the Dock).

Hopefully someone a lot smarter than me (which isn't hard) will figure out what caused the situation I saw and maybe find a real solution.

Rock on Nexus!!
