Every once in a while, I lose an entire sub-dock. I'll click on the main dock item to open the sub-dock. Then, I'll click on a sub-dock item to open it. The next thing I know, the sub-dock is gone. The main dock item is gone, but replaced with a random item from the sub-dock (which may or may not have been the one that I clicked on).

The one sub-dock item that survives may or may not act correctly. When it doesn't act correctly, I'm sometimes able to change its type to a sub-dock (but not usually). Once, I was able to restore the sub-dock doing that, but have had no luck since.

So, is there any way to keep from zorching my sub-dock. Or, is there a way to restore the sub-dock items that got zorched?

Happened to me also in the beginning. Usually when you click on an item while the mouse is still moving a bit, which seems to invoke the drag and drop functionality of Winstep.

My advice:
1) Check 'Lock icons and prevent them from being dragged' in General tab under Miscellaneous Options. Only uncheck this temporarily if you want to drag items around.
2) Make a backup of your settings (Advanced tab), so you can restore your settings again (same tab) if something still goes wrong. This takes less time than restoring your items manually.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.
