Either something's wrong with your firewall settings, or the new installation lost some METAR code or customisation.
Can't remember exactly what had happened, but I seem to remember something about Weather.com changing something... and then Jorge changed something else...?
I'm sure it's all in here... somewhere...

I'll have to keep searching the forum messages. The message I get is:

Sorry, connection to Weather Service failed!
Reason: Connection to Weather Server failed!
Please try again later...

Found something about NVIDIA but can't make heads or tails out of it. Guess I will have to stay with Objectdock to check weather. :(

Ah... now I remember.
However, the big question is, can Winstep access the net in general? For example, if you right-click on the clock and select "check atomic clock", does it update or produce an error? Or if you make it check for updates?

The reason I'm asking is to assert if the problem is with Winstep being unable to access the network in general, or simply a problem with accessing the weather server.
A couple of years ago, the weather provider (weather.com if I'm not mistaken) changed something with its service which produced similar errors, for which Jorge had released a fixed build. Not sure if you've installed the older or the fixed version.

Connection fails on clock update and weather mod. But if I right click weather and pick "Detailed Weather Conditions", that opens up browser and works fine.

Running 12.2 Winstep.

thedude just to check one more thing, open preferences, advance and click on check for update. if this doesn't work you'll need to check you allowed list in your firewall.

Can't figure it out. My module stopped working again a few days ago and I again had to use the workaround I posted. I now have the correct location. I wonder how long it will work before it crashes again.

Would you PLEASE check the service provider and post it here?
If you don't know where, it's on the hover/balloon tip of the desktop module. Just hover your mouse over it and it'll show on the 3rd line: "Source: ..."

For the record, mine's getting it from NOAA/MSN and it's been working just fine since... forever.

Okay, here we go. When I hover mine shows it's MSN.

I also went into the advanced settings for the module and:

1st line NOAA

2nd line I think might be my location code

3rd line xml.weather

4th line MSN

5th line Google

[quote="Windy"]Okay, here we go. When I hover mine shows it's MSN.

I have the same advanced settings, but when it trys to connect it says:

"Sorry, connection to Weather Service failed!
Reason: Connection to Weather Server failed!
Please try again later..."

Obviously I have an internet access or I wouldn't be here now. I've even tried disabling my firewall.
