Hello all. I'm a new user, and have a small problem. When I access the "preferences" in the Nexus dock, there is only one tab highlighted. The "about" tab. I can't access any other tabs, such as "content", "position", "behavior", "general", etc. I can click, double click, control click, and nothing works. So, in other words, I can't change anything. Is this a feature only available in the paid version? If not, any suggestions? FYI, I use Avast Internet Security software. If Avast is preventing the access, does anyone know how to force Avast to allow the program to work? Sorry for the lengthy question.

heres a list of this to try. the order really doesn't matter. if i didn't think of something i'm sure one or more of the other members will add them.

check your firewalls advance setting to see if anything for winstep is not allow either on your local or internet networks.

reinstall winstep over the top of itself(i'd do a restart after).

uninstall winstep then restart, reinstall, restart.

Could you post a screenshot of that "Preferences" dialogue?
I have a feeling you've been using a trial and it's expired...

Yeah, there's an issue with DPI settings higher than 100%.
For the moment, Winstep will only work normally when the DPI setting of Windows is at its default 100%. Higher settings break the physical to logical 1:1 correlation of pixels and wreak havoc with Winstep.
If you can just return the setting to the (default for all computers) 100% setting, you should be back to ok.
For completeness' sake, you have to go to Control Panel, Appearance and Personalisation, and under "Display", there's "Make text and other items larger or smaller".
Yes, I know, you might want things larger, but Windows and most programmes are designed with pixel dimensions; Windows is just trying to overcome that "issue" by reporting 'fake' pixel dimensions to the programmes whilst keeping another set of dimensions and an adjustment multiplier for itself, so that programmes never know the true size of the display.
Anyway, long story short, Microsoft's approach is borked. Most programmes don't mind, but those few that move outside the boundaries, do and do big time.
