Myself and others I know personally and professionally have been using the Nexus Ultimate dock for years, and it has proven to be the central workhorse of our computing experience. It's a truly magnificent and very powerful piece of software. With traditional mouse and keyboard setups it's fantastic.

However, recently myself and others have begun using touch-screen tablet PCs and though we were very excited to try the Nexus dock with this type of interface, we've discovered as of version 12.2 it really does not play nicely with touch.

The bugs we've encountered are severe enough to make the dock unusable, and I feel merits a new thread here on the forum for reports of any and all touch-based UI glitches/bugs or general misbehaviours encountered. Perhaps if we do a good job reporting these issues and offering suggestions they can be addressed by the developers to help bring this amazing software up to date with the recent boom in tablet PC sales.

--------------------------------

Now then, on to the bug reporting:

-During the drag and drop process of pinning an item to the dock, when releasing that item onto the dock the Nexus menu pops open but appears *behind* the dock. This makes it difficult or impossible to select certain menu options.

-Running icons that have been grouped together, when touched, will not show live previews. Also, the Nexus menu that should at least pop up to allow you to choose which instance to bring up does not stay open. When the group is touched, it will very briefly flash on screen then disappear making it impossible to select anything. This bug is especially noticeable when the dock is attached to the bottom edge of the screen, for some reason.

-When a maximized window is open and the dock is visible with reserved screen space enabled, tapping an item on the dock becomes extremely difficult when the dock does not have the focus. To register the touch on an item, you are forced to touch very low down on the dock item. Could this glitch be related in some way to fuzzy hit targeting in Windows 8?

-When the tablet PC has been sleeping for a fair amount of time (around 30+ minutes), upon waking up the dock is completely frozen for 1 to 2 minutes. Everything else in the desktop is fully functional, just the Nexus Dock is frozen and hanging. Attempting to interact with it does absolutely nothing at all for that period of time. Windows does not recognize it as 'not responding', either. After that 1 to 2 minute period of time, the dock spontaneously starts working again. It is worth noting that this only occurs after the PC has been sleeping for a decent amount of time. If it's been asleep for just a few minutes, the dock is fully functional after waking.

--------------------------------

So far these are the big show-stopping bugs myself and my colleagues have experienced. As we discover any others I will post them here.

Thanks for your time and keep up the good work, we look forward to seeing Nexus Dock becoming the essential and powerful app it is on the desktop now on the mobile devices of the future!

I would encourage anyone who has experienced bugs using the software with a touch interface to make a post describing the issue.
