The subject icon doesn't appear in Workshelf's System Tray module. Power, Network and Audio all show up just fine. How do I get the Notification/Action Center icon to appear in Workshelf, please?

NB: The icon appears in the standard Windows 10 taskbar notification area.

No it doesn't. It appears next to it, and that's a big difference.

Microsoft made it look as if the Notification/Action Center icon is part of the system tray, but it really is a separate icon - which explains why you don't see it in the system tray icons shown by WorkShelf/NextSTART.

The Action Center functionality was thus implemented as an Internal Command. For instance, when you run Winstep Xtreme for the first time, if it detects it's running under Windows 10 it will automatically add an 'Action Center' icon to the Quick Launch section of the NextSTART taskbar. Same for the 'Task View' icon in Windows 10 that gives you access to the VDM.

So, right click the dock or Shelf, select 'Insert New Item -> Internal Command -> Misc -> Action Center'.

That explains a lot.
