Certain customized tray icons in Xtreme 15.9 (and now 15.12 beta) revert to original every time Xtreme is started. The offending icons are:

Workshelf - low-res original icon replaces hi-res original icon selected from the workshelf.exe file.

XYplorer - low-res version of the custom icon replaces hi-res version. Customized icon itself is correct.

Webroot - low res original icon replaces hi-res original icon selected from .exe file.

AnyDVD - Custom hi-res icon replaced by original low-res tray icon.

I make corrections and backup my settings. After an Xtreme restart, with the icons reverted, restoring my backup settings restores the correct icons until the next time Xtreme is restarted.

How do I fix this, please?

Are other customized system tray icons persistent? Is it just those?

If so, is there anything common to that group that is not common to the others? For instance, they are all hi-res icons embedded in exe files? Or are you using .PNG files for some and .ICO files for others in that group?

Other custom icons are persistent.

Two are hi-res icons embedded in .exe files, and two are custom icons. One of the custom icons is a .png file and the other is an .ico file.

I've found with 15.12 beta that that the icons from the .exe files *do not* restore properly when I restore my backed-up settings. Both Workshelf and Webroot stay in their reverted original lo-res state.

I finally had the time to look properly into this.

Turns out this had nothing to do with the *type* of icons you were using, but rather with the *number* of icons you were customizing: over 100. 103 to be exact.

Unfortunately the code limited those to 99 when reading them back. This meant four of your icons ended up getting corrupted/overwritten every time you re-run Xtreme and four other icons would be left blank.

TL;DR: Found the problem and fixed it.

I noticed you came back to read the topic, but I'm not sure you realized that the latest beta HERE (just released) already includes the fix to your problem.
