When I create a shortcut for Pinnacle Game Profiler the app wont start, (it crashes). But when I start the app from the desktop shortcut it runs fine. What's the problem? Here is the data from the crash.

Showing me the details of a 3rd party app crash will not help, it's not Nexus that is crashing - all Nexus does is tell Windows to launch the application, after that the process no longer has anything to do with it.

Can you post a screenshot of the Item Properties dialog for that shortcut?

Also, where are you starting it from? The dock? The Shelf? If the Shelf, from a Regular or from a Folder tab?

I'm starting it from the shelf. I only use shelves since it's the only way to use tabs. I have 3 pics of properties. From left to right
1. from windows shortcut
2. from shelf entry properties
3. from shelf properties

It starts from the shortcut on the desktop or windows quicklaunch taskbar, just not from the dock (tabbed shelf)

Also I have both windows 7 x64 pro and windows 10 x64 pro and in win 7 the app crashes and with win 10 it doesn't do anything. The cursor just turns into a spinning circle for about 2 sec and nothing.

Scott, in the Shelf's Item Properties dialog, the full path is so long that the beginning is hidden, which also hides an important piece of information.

Can you please copy & paste the full path here (i.e.; the contents of the Filename field in the *Shelf* Item Properties dialog)?

Well, I don't really have an answer for you. Exception code #c0000005 means Access Violation, i.e.; the application tried to read or write to memory that does not belong to it.

When launching a program, all the Winstep application does is tell Windows where the program is, what arguments to use, etc... It makes an API call with that information and it's Windows itself that does the actual launching of the application.

So, since this is a problem that only occurs with that particular application and no others, I would say the problem is some kind of bug in the Pinnacle Game Profiler app itself.

Why that bug/crash does not manifest when you launch the shortcut from your desktop is anybody's guess, but the problem definitely lies in the application itself.
