 Post subject: Workshelf not working: freezes, loooooong lag

I've been playing with Nexus for a few weeks now, and generally I love it, BUT for some reason my shelves are now freezing: clicking on any tab or item within the shelf does nothing. This happens whether Winstep is loaded from a cold start, or manually.

Tried all the obvious stuff: malware scans, scannow, the works.

I realize this is not much info to work with, but I'm assuming this issue has been discussed (and hopefully) solved.

You're assuming wrong then, because nobody else has reported any issues so far.

From what you say above, it seems this is an issue that only recently started happening, and that it wasn't present before. Given this, try to think what changed on your system recently that might be behind this.

Anyway, what version of Nexus Ultimate are you running? What version of Windows? If you're running Windows 10, are you running an insider preview version?

Did you recently add any shortcuts to the Shelf that point to networked drives?

Can you please describe the issue in more detail? When the 'freeze' happens, is it only with the Shelf or do the docks remain functional? Does the Shelf 'recover' by itself after a while?

Hmmm... ok, fair 'nuff. Just goes to proove the old addage re: assumptions.

Tried rolling back to previous restore points: no go. Not suprising, as I have not installed anything since starting to experiment with Workshelf. Docks and Nextstart continue to function properly.

So, the problem may be the program itself: I'll download a fresh copy of Extreme and try again.

I usually stick to an issue like this until it's been solved, but as I am also rebuilding a desktop from scratch (total wipe and re-install :roll: :roll: don't really have the time. I'll post what happens with the fresh dload.

Make sure you install the latest v16.6 version, please.
