I use the free version.In the dock I have a folder with my media programs:
Media Player Classic, SPlayer, Winamp, Imgburn & Ashampoo Burning Studio. I´m unable to launch Winamp but it works fine with all the other programs.
I even tried to set a shortcut for Winamp outside my media folder, directly on the dock, without success.I can launch Winamp normally otherwise, working fine for the last 6/7 years.I use Win 7 32x.
Any suggestion ?

No idea what the problem might be, sorry... Maybe someone else can confirm this problem with WinAmp?

Anyway, have you tried making a shortcut to WinAmp somewhere and then referencing the shortcut in the dock instead of the application directly?

Winamp launches normally from a shortcut anywhere but in Nexus.

I meant reference the shortcut in the dock instead of the executable (i.e.; you launch the shortcut via the dock which in turns launches Winamp). Since the dock automatically resolves shortcuts when you drop one into it, you'll have to edit the WinAmp entry so it points to the .lnk (shortcut) file.

That´s what I´ve been doing; shortcut in my media folder woks fine from the folder but does not work from Nexus. Shortcut on the desktop works fine, but does not work if I drop it into the dock.

Edit: In my first post I wrote I had a media folder; I have to be more accurate;this folder contains shortcuts to my media programs !

I'm not using winamp anymore, but in the first months of Nexus use I've been using it and I've been able to launch Winamp. Also, I can't think of a Nexus bug because winamp is just an EXE like any other, and it's also a 32-bit application, so there shouldn't be any problem with Nexus from this point of view.

Instead of creating the nexus shortcut by dragging the winamp shortcut on the dock, try to drag the winamp EXE on the dock and see if the new shortcut works. The winamp exe usually stays in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\winamp.exe

Thanks for the answer, but I already tried this & anything I could think of.No big deal, I can launch Winamp from the Quick Start.
It´s a pity because I really enjoy Nexus, using it to replace RocketDock. I did not have this problem with RocketDock.
Just out of curiosity: Wich player are you using now ?
I´m still looking for something better & as tweakable as Winamp.

I just tried it here, out of sheer curiosity. Click on dock (subdock actually), create new item, find item, point to /programfiles(x86)/winamp/winamp.exe, ok, ok... click on new icon, winamp runs.
Don't know why it doesn't work for you, mate!

jetAudio. It's much more "player" and very less "Web-Browser".

Anyway, try using a BAT file to run Winamp. Open Notepad and write down this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\winamp.exe

(change the file path if you've installed winamp elsewhere)

Then do File > Save as... > RunWinamp.bat --make sure the file type to save is set to All Files (*.*). Use this bat file to start winamp, this way it should be windows itself starting winamp, not Nexus.

Also, stupid question: have you already tried with older versions?

@skagon:That´s exactly what I did first.I really liked to understand what´s going on.ALL my other programs are launching fine.I really enjoy Nexus, more "elegant" than RocketDock, imho.

I might even have some kind of clue if this was a 64 bit system we were talking about (because of the transparent 64 bit file system re-direction performed by the OS 'behind the scenes' for 32 bit applications) but this doesn't make any sense.

The batch file works correctly if you launch it directly instead of through the dock?

Also, any chance of a picture showing the properties of your WinAmp shortcut on the dock (right click the shortcut on the dock and select Dock Entry Properties from the context menu that pops up)?

The batch file does not work, but it is something I´ve never done before. Maybe I did something wrong.
I tried also to update my Winamp to the last version, without results.

It´s strange because winamp launches normally from the Start menu, from the desktop icon, from the Quick Start icon or from a shortcut placed anywhere in a folder.???
