why would you want to when all you have to do is press the win flag key to bring up the startmenu.

if you hit the win flag key it only shows the startmenu and not the taskbar.

As long as you are NOT running Windows 8, right click on the Shelf, select Insert New Shelf Item -> Internal Command -> Desktop -> Start Menu.

Hi Jorge, I read this thread and didn't remember seeing this feature in WorkShelf. I checked and my memory was confirmed.

Did you and the OP (funnnyfarm) mean a Dock instead of a Shelf?

No, I did mean the Shelf. However, I failed to mention that you can only add shortcuts (such as the Start Menu Internal Command) to *Regular* tab types in the Shelf. It *won't work* if you try to add it to a tab displaying the contents of the Control Panel or a folder in your hard drive, for instance.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know. However, what my main question was is your directions.

I don't see this in WorkShelf at all. I only see this in the Dock. Is something missing?

Do you still have a 'Main' tab on the Shelf? That is an example of a 'Regular' tab type (one you can add shortcuts to just like in a dock). If so, right click any item/shortcut in it and let me know if you see a 'Insert New Shelf Item' option in the context menu that pops up.

Also, make sure you are running v12.2. :)

Ah, I see what the problem was. I didn't understand your directions. I took it to mean to right-click on the Shelf. I didn't know it has to be done on an item in the Main tab.

I have never used that tab. I mainly use the Desktop tab and the Control Panel tab which are both awesome!! There is so much to Xtreme! Now it made me think about the poster that was complaining that Winstep Xtreme has too many features. That was the first time I'd ever heard of such a thing.

Well, the thing is, not all tabs in the Shelf are alike, the same way the Control Panel/My Computer folders are not the same as regular folders in your hard drive - you can't put shortcuts in an Explorer Control Panel folder either.

Likewise, some tabs types in the Shelf are special and should not/cannot be used to place shortcuts in them.
