Hi, Jorge, I just made a hotspot to power off my monitor. I set it to activate via top right corner bump. It's not turning off my monitor. Any ideas? My other hotspots that involve a corner bump are working. I even tried reassigning one of the other hotspots to the top right corner, and when I bumped the top right corner, that other hotspot activated, so it's not something weird with the top right corner bump.

My guess is that you chose the wrong type of hotspot?

Remember that moving your mouse pointer wakes your monitor right back up. So perhaps it's working but is then immediately canceled?

What happens if you use that internal command as an icon in the dock, for instance? Does it work then?

I switched it to a button in the quicklaunch area, and clicking it didn't turn off the monitor that way, either.

Crap. You're right.

It was a badly formed API declaration call in NextSTART. 'Start Screen Saver' was also broken.

Both IC's work properly under WorkShelf though.

Anyway, fixed for next release.

I wasn't sure about the screensaver because I have my screensaver turned off. Glad to hear you found the issue, and my wife will be, too. She hates it if my monitor doesn't shut off at night.

In the next release you'll be able to create an alarm to power off your monitor at a specific time during the night, just in case you forget to do it manually before going to bed.

Jorge, I'm happy to report that it's working here with this update.

Yay! Like the new alarms? :)

You can also use them to wake up in the morning, even if your PC is set to hibernate or sleep when not in use: the alarm is able to (optionally) wake the computer up from a low power mode - and you can make create your own MP3 playlists or use existing M3U playlists to blast those speakers when the time comes (or gently raise the music volume over time)! ;-)

I'm gonna have to play around with them, now.
