When creating a new hotspot I found that when I go to set the internal command to show start menu it is creating a call for start menu. This seems to be incorrect... I can go look at the default ones nexus has and it shows "show start menu" but if I edit the default and click through to see which one it has selected its just start menu and not show start menu.

There is no internal command called 'Show Start Menu', only 'Start Menu'

One thing is the *description/label* of the item on a dock, hotspot, etc, another is the name/identifier of the internal command.

I agree the naming sometimes isn't very consistent, but you should keep in mind that internal commands go all they way back to 1999. :)

Then why can't I find it? In your default it has internal command as "Show Start Menu". The only thing I could find was "Start Menu".

Of note, when I go through the internal commands list there doesn't seem to be anything else related to the start menu... that's obvious anyway.

There ya go. :)

Not sure why one says 'Show Start Menu' and the internal command is actually 'Start Menu'. I'm sure there is a reason, but it's probably lost in the mist of time.

Ah well, nobody's perfect! :)

Well, maybe you can see what I am trying to do? I want to middle click the nexus start button and it will show the win10 start menu. But it doesn't seem to work.

"Nexus Start Button" ? Or the NextSTART Start Button?

If the latter, it can only have one function, activated by left clicking. Assuming you did not disable the Quick Launch section in the NextSTART taskbar, right next to the NextSTART Start Button you will have an icon (quick launch item) that when clicked on will activate the Windows Start Menu.

The type of hotspots you are trying to use are different. Those are attached to a certain window and you must also define the activation area. Unlike the other options they do allow you to define the mouse button used to activate the hotspot when you click on that area in that particular window.

If you actually want to add an item to the Nexus dock to activate the Windows Start menu, then simply add a 'Start Menu' internal command to the dock itself. You can also invoke NextSTART hotspots from WorkShelf items in docks, shelves, etc...

You might want to give this post a look. :)

Gah. Yes, it was the latter. I'd love to not have a lingering extra start button basically. Sort of like Start10. You could do a ctrl+left click to bring up the original start menu and regular left click for the start10 menu. It was a nice feature. I was looking for something like that. Ah well.

Feature request? lol

Hmmm... right clicking the NextSTART Start button already opens a context menu showing the same options you get when you click the Windows Start Button.

I'll have to look at the code, but it might be possible to make it so middle clicking also invokes the Windows Start Menu.

That or some key combo with a left or right click. That would be sweet! Thanks for taking it into consideration.

The current right click menu is def not enough for me. Sometimes I just want to get back into that windows 10 menu. BUT. I also haven't spent a lot of time playing with the start menu customize yet either. I've had a look and saw my programs folder and was like "uuuuuuuuuuuuugh... not now". It's three "more" buttons deep in garbage haha.

That's just *one* aspect of it (the Programs sub-menu). You can customize all the menus: NextSTART Preferences -> Menus tab -> Menu Editor.

Or you can simply use drag & drop and right click menu options to customize your NextSTART menus.

Yes sir. That is one place I did discover. I just couldn't believe the depth of my all programs folder. It's gross.
