You can use spacers (called 'dock place holders' in NeXuS), but ObjectDock docklets are NOT supported, sorry.

Once the new UI is complete, you will see an 'explosion' in terms of available NeXuS docklets/modules - ideas is not something I have a lack off!

Yes there are, but they are called 'modules'.

Currently you have:

1 - A speaking clock that synchronizes the time with Internet time servers.

2 - A Recycle Bin that tells you how many files are in it and the space used by them.

3 - A speaking, multi-account, Email Checker module that is able to handle POP3 as well as IMAP mail servers and supports the SSL protocol (the later essential if you want to monitor your Gmail account).

4 - A Weather Monitor with 5 day forecast supporting over 15,000 cities all over the world which can retrieve information from METAR and Weather.com sources.

5 - A multi-processor compatible CPU Meter which is able to list current x CPU hogs.

6 - A RAM Meter which is able to list the current top x memory hogs.

7 - A Net Meter monitor which provides a mind boggling array of information concerning your network connections/cards and allows you to see which applications are currently communicating via TCP/IP or UDP, resolves IP addresses into domain names, performs WhoIs Queries and allows you to forcefully close a connection if required (in fact it matches Sysinternal's TCPView in terms of what in can do).

8 - And finaly but not the least, Wanda, a cute fortune cookie reader (VERY popular under Linux  ) which is able to retrieve and display fortune cookies from an online database containing thousands of entries.

You also have two 'flavors' of each module: in-shelf/in-dock (i.e. like the ObjectDock docklets) and Desktop modules. Desktop modules can be left floating on your desktop, hidden until required, or even attach themselves to the NextSTART startbar.

ok, so they are all built in, there is no way to create user created modules?

So that was two years ago. Where is that explosion of 'modules' you were talking about ? How do I add a module that would check my emails for instance ?
Great job ! Thanks to all the devs :)

Read again what I said at the time:

"Once the new UI is complete, you will see an 'explosion' in terms of available NeXuS docklets/modules"

Winstep Xtreme v10.6 was released in July 13th, barely one month ago, and it's the first official release with a complete new UI. You seriously expect me to add an 'explosion' of new modules in under a month?

Err, right click -> Insert New Item -> Module -> Email Checker. Pft.

Unfortunately Gmail did something in early 2010 that now prevents the Email Checker from working with Gmail accounts (even though the Winstep Email Checker supports SSL encryption). :(
