... New today on the Mini Blog, something somewhat disturbing about privacy, freedom of speech, and - NO! Yes, alas, Proton. If you too are passionate about privacy and freedom of speech, after reading the blog post here please consider letting Proton know by any means you can that it matters to you and that better is expected of them, and indeed demanded of them.

Also new today, the launch of a very promising new Proton app, a Proton Bitcoin Wallet - alas, not yet generally available though and not yet feature complete. And a little more on the generally excellent and very fast Waterfox browser.

Not on the Mini Blog today, just general news here, following extensive discussions in other, private, forums sharing the 'Online Security & Privacy 101' thread, it has become clear that a supplement or even supplements to the 'Windows & macOS' topic is/are definitely needed and indeed demanded that offer further concrete help with securing those OSes. This or these now take precedence over other articles and are being worked on as and when time permits.

The starting page of the Security & Privacy 101 topic can be found HERE.

This time on the Mini Blog, more about the forthcoming supplements to the 'Windows & macOS 101' article, and a lot more on the sorry Proton affair regarding their use of non-privacy services for customer support and feedback. All the same, Proton is the privacy software to stick with - it's far and away the best we have!

On the Mini Blog today, once more we have to return to the sorry Proton affair regarding their use of non-privacy services for customer support and feedback. All the same, Proton is the privacy software to stick with - it's far and away the best we have! In fact, it's the only comprehensive, end-to-end-encrypted and zero-access encrypted fully open source privacy software around.

More privacy and security news soon.

On the Mini Blog this time, news about Proton's Bitcoin app, Proton Wallet, at last becoming more widely available.

Plus, Proton's Privacy Policies and more.

And last but not least, a little something on web browsers.

On the Mini Blog this time, news about the forthcoming Supplementary articles to the 'Windows & macOS 101' one.

Plus, why you should rid yourself of anything Google, and how to do it, and some scary matter for US-based readers.

And a brief mention of Brave web browser and search engine.

Unfortunately, work on the supplementaries has been delayed somewhat due to busy forum duties here lately, as well as other business. I hope to catch up soon. In the meantime, some minor improvements/revisions to the placeholder and the addition of the second placeholder.

Another issue that keeps me on my toes as it were is that elsewhere where this series of articles is also published, there is always some pretty lively discussion of this project - queries, comments, suggestions, requests, etc. This takes place in a separate thread that announces any updates and the like - similar to the 'On Online Security & Privacy 101....' threads here. I am somewhat puzzled that there is none of this at all here, in spite of the huge viewing figures for the project itself as well as the announcement threads. Preferred thread for posting any comments and the like is the one in the 'Off Topic' forum - please feel free. :D

On the Mini Blog this time, security and privacy topics include Social Engineering, Pixel Tracking, and Proton VPN's unique 'Permanent Killswitch' which prevents accidental leaks of your real IP.
