Is there any chance that could ever be possible or, have I missed the fact that it already is?

Nexus natively supports multi-monitor profiles, in that as you add or remove monitors or change screen resolutions you can have different docks/shelves/etc automatically active/disabled or docked at different monitors/screen positions.

You don't have to do anything for this to work other than not disable multi-monitor profiles in the General tab of Preferences and re-arrange/enable/disable your docks, etc, just like you want them as you add/remove monitors/change screen resolutions.

The Winstep application will automatically remember where your docks, etc, were (and which were active and which were disabled) in each different multi-monitor/screen resolution configuration.

However, if I understood correctly, this is not what you are doing there? You just want docks to move around monitors because...?

Hey, Jorge,
Thanks for your reply.

I have a desk with a 4K 42" main monitor, and I sit in the middle of that. To the right I have a 2K monitor.
I use both for Flight Simulation as well as everyday tasks, 3D designs and printing, photoshop etc.

When using the Flight Simulator on the main 4K monitor, I move the docks to the RHS 2K monitor as I have to access numerous controls all over the screen with a mouse when flying say an A350 and cannot have my docks opening when I move my mouse over the various knobs and switches etc.

I can't set the RHS 2K monitor as the main monitor as the simulator needs to load on the main monitor to function, so I have to go through the steps to move my docks by the Nexus Ultimate user interface.

For normal day to day purposes, I need my Nexus docks on my main monitor directly in front of me.

On the RHS of my desk is a large tower computer and to the right of that, I have a very large Sim Racing Rig and that also its own large 4K monitor.
It's too far away to see my other two monitors so when I switch over to that, I need to then move my Nexus docks to that.

Typically, I program buttons on my two 32 button Stream Decks to automate processes hence my wish list request.

I hope some of this makes sense. :-)

Regards Kym Harper (Ozzy-K)

All dock activation settings are automatically disabled when running a full screen application (precisely so you don't accidentally activate a hidden dock in the middle of playing a game). Are you running your Flight Simulator in a window instead of full screen?

Hi, I've another very simple suggestion - show full right-click context menu by right-clicking on an icon while holding a shift, when show full right-click context menu options is not selected. It's a default Windows behavior too, so it's makes a lto of sense to have that option as well.

Good idea, done.

Default Win behaviour? Looks like half of Windows users are now seeking refuge in Linux, the other half here in Winstep! ;) :P

When you hold shift while right clicking folder background or icon in explorer, it shows expanded context menu with additional options.

I'm running full screen and I still need the dock to be operational (so on another screen) whilst on a flight as I multitask on long flights.

Ok, but you seemed to be implying that you moved the dock(s) to a secondary screen because otherwise it might be accidentally activated when moving your mouse within your full screen flight simulator, which would never happen because all activation methods are automatically disabled when running a full screen application/game.

What you seem to want is a "profile" that works kind of like the multi-monitor/screen resolution profiles (where different dock/shelf/etc positions and other settings are stored), but that can be manually activated with a click of a button. I can imagine how something like that might work and be accomplished.

My only doubt is, besides you I am not sure how many other people might find something like this useful?

Most probably none. Far simpler to clone any dock/s to sit on the 2nd monitor permanently.

Hello,

I've discovered there's a shortcut to peek the desktop with win + , (comma) and nexus was hiding the dock while doing that. There's a setting to keep dock while using win + d, so it would be nice to have the same for peeking shortcut as well.

The dock(s) will ALWAYS stay visible when pressing Peek Desktop (WIN + comma), regardless of the 'Keep the dock visible when pressing WIN+D' setting, even on Windows 11 24H2 (just tested it here in Windows 11 24H2 and in Windows 10 22H2).

What is happening is that Microsoft also changed the behavior of WIN + D (Show Desktop) in Windows 11 24H2 and, until a work-around is implemented, the dock(s) will disappear when pressing WIN + D even if the 'Keep the dock visible when pressing WIN+D' setting is enabled.

This change in Windows 11 24H2 also affects other 3rd party applications, such as RainMeter.
