I have to close app and restart app. Define "screen timeout", "dock disappears" - describe exactly what happens. Which app are you using, and which version? free Nexus, Nexus Ultimate, Winstep Xtreme? V24.4, or what? Which version of Windows? |

I've been having the same problem, but it looks like someone beat me to making a post about it. I was originally using an outdated version of Nexus Dock Ultimate but renewed my license to see if it was fixed in a later update. I'm currently using version 24.4. My version of Windows 11 is Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100, which should be the latest update. This problem actually started happening after I updated to the latest version of Windows. When my computer comes out of sleep, sometimes the dock disappears. Other times, the dock moves to the middle of my screen. To fix this, I have to open Task Manager and restart File Explorer. |

Windows 11 24H2 is a buggy mess, causing an endless stream of problems with 3rd party applications and games. Are you also running Start11, by any chance? |

No, but I do have StartAllBack installed to place my taskbar on the top of the screen. My Nexus Ultimate/StartAllBack combo has been working perfectly for the past like...three years or however long it's been. It's only the recent Windows update that screwed everything up. |

For the cases where the dock disappears, try pressing CTRL+F12 to bring up Preferences and then press OK. Does that bring the dock back? |

I'll give those a go and see what happens over the next few days. |

Update: So, the "Reset Reserved Screen Space" command works for repositioning it to the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, CTRL+F12 doesn't do anything when the dock disappears completely. |

I've been monitoring the Windows Event Viewer and found out that when the dock moves to the centre, there are two events that consistently show up. However, when the dock disappears, there aren't any events shown. Just a moment ago, I intentionally put my computer to sleep several times and turned my monitor off/on to make sure. I'm going to paste the two events below in case that helps. ---------- Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP Date: 2025-02-12 11:42:02 PM Event ID: 16394 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: DESKTOP-OP8PL6G Description: Offline downlevel migration succeeded. I understand this doesn't help, but I am now also running 24H2, my PC also goes to sleep, and I am not experiencing any issues when the PC returns from sleep. Can you please post a picture of your entire desktop when the dock moves to the center? Might give me a clue. Also, when the dock disappears, if you open the Details tab of the Windows Task Manager, is the Winstep application (nexus-ultimate.exe) still running? |

Ok, that seems very similar to what is happening with Start11. Since you say that it only started happening with the latest Windows update and not before, I am now more inclined to think this might be yet another issue with a Windows update affecting 3rd party applications (such as Start11, StartAllBack and Winstep) that reserve screen space so maximized windows do not overlap the docks, taskbars, etc... As another example of a Windows Update breaking something else, a Winstep user contacted me a couple of days ago stating that clicking any of the Browse for files or folders buttons inside the Winstep application did nothing (vs opening the standard browser dialog). Upon further investigation turns out that he was also using WindowBlinds and that setting the WB skin to Windows 11 fixed the issue. A quick post on Wincustomize replied to by Neil (WB's developer himself) revealed that what at first looked like a bug in the Winstep application and later a bug in WindowBlinds, was actually yet another issue introduced by one of the latest Windows updates. The next release of WB worked "fixed" this problem. Anyway, I'm getting v25.2 ready for release, and one of the things it does different from v24.4 is resetting reserved screen areas upon returning from sleep. This will hopefully also stop that issue from happening there. Stay tuned. |
