Application not opening when using "Show folder in menu"

I have a Dock that is a folder that has multiple items in it. If the folder is on my desktop, I can open each one normally. But when I move the folder to the main dock and then enable "Show folder in menu", the items show up in the drop down, but when I click on them they do not open.

In the folder on the desktop, under properties it is set to Open with "Console Window host" . in the dock, the properties states "Unknown application".

This used to work until I updated to 24.04.1175

What Windows version? What version of the Winstep software were you running before?

Also, can you please provide screenshots of the Properties windows you mention?

It's going to be difficult to understand what exactly is happening in there.

To start with the screenshots show the Windows Property dialogs for *different* items. One is also the properties dialog of a file, the other is the properties dialog of a *shortcut* (.lnk) to a file.

Another issue is that you can't actually move folders into a dock, you can only create a "shortcut" in a dock to an existing folder in your hard drive (unless instead of "dock" you mean something like a shelf). So, if you moved a folder in your desktop to a dock, the item in the dock would simply be pointing to that same folder in your desktop.

However, what you are showing me in the screenshots are folders in different locations, so I'm confused. Perhaps another screenshot showing the dock with the open menu might help (press PRT SCR to take a snapshot of your desktop while the menu is open).

Finally, nothing was changed between v24.4 and 23.11 that has any relation with launching items. Perhaps you also changed Windows versions in the mean time?
